Last Winter Tested Us. Here's Why I'm More Excited Than Ever for This Ski Season. #Pray4Snow
Looking back at last season—and why every skier is hoping for a legendary comeback.

If you spent any time in Breckenridge last winter, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
It wasn't just a "slow start" to the season—it was one of the toughest winters I can remember. Snowfall came late, storms seemed to miss us, and there were plenty of days where all of us locals found ourselves constantly checking the forecast hoping for that next big storm.
As someone who owns and manages vacation rentals here in Breckenridge, I saw it firsthand. Guests were still making incredible memories, but everyone was asking the same question:
"When is the snow coming?"
Thankfully, Breckenridge has one of the best snowmaking operations in Colorado, so the mountain stayed in great shape considering the circumstances. But let's be honest—nothing beats waking up to a foot of fresh powder and spending the day carving through untouched snow.
That's the Breckenridge we all love.
Looking Ahead
The early long-range weather chatter has many meteorologists watching the potential development of a strong El Niño pattern this winter.
Historically, El Niño years can bring above-average snowfall to parts of Colorado, especially later in the season. Of course, no one can predict exactly what Mother Nature will do months in advance, but after last year, it's hard not to be optimistic.
If there's ever a year to hope for a comeback, this feels like it.
Why We Love Winter Here
One of the things I love most about Breckenridge is that every winter tells a different story.
Some years it's endless powder days.
Some years it's bluebird skies and perfect groomers.
And sometimes Mother Nature reminds us who's really in charge.
No matter what happens, this town always finds a way to deliver an incredible mountain experience. The restaurants are buzzing, Main Street looks like something out of a Christmas movie, the après scene is unbeatable, and there's nothing quite like watching the snow fall over Peak 8 with a cup of coffee in your hand.
Here's Hoping...
Whether you're planning your first trip to Breckenridge or you're one of our returning guests, we're hoping this winter reminds everyone why Colorado skiing is world famous.
We're already getting excited for ski season, watching every forecast, and crossing our fingers for those classic overnight powder dumps.
Until then...
Pray for snow.
