Silverthorne Pumpkin Fest — October 4

Kick off the month with a classic fall morning at Silverthorne Pumpkin Fest at Rainbow Park. Pumpkin painting, mini train rides, bounce houses and fall games make it a hit with the kids — and it's free, running 11am–2pm. It's about 20 minutes down the hill from Breck and an easy, low-key way to start an October weekend.

Día de Muertos & Latin Festival — October 16–17

One of the most beautiful events on the fall calendar, Breckenridge's Día de Muertos & Latin Festival is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of Latin American culture. Expect live music and dancing, an artisan market, hands-on workshops, and community altars honoring loved ones who've passed. It's colorful, moving, and completely free to attend.

The Shining · $5 Film Series — October 23

Looking for the perfect spooky night out? Breck Create's Five Dollar Film Series screens Stanley Kubrick's The Shining at the Riverwalk Center on October 23 at 7:30pm. Tickets are just $5 — an easy, atmospheric October evening right in the heart of downtown.

Halloween in Breckenridge — October 31

Halloween in Breck is a whole vibe. Historic Main Street fills up with costumes, decorated shops and spooky food-and-drink specials, and the adults-only Breck-o-ween party keeps the grown-ups celebrating after dark. Just up the road, Frisco's Trick or Treat on Main Street (5–7pm, free) brings decorated storefronts, candy, kids' activities and a Halloween dog parade with the local animal shelter — a family favorite to close out the season.
